The synthesis of classic music and modern German literature (at the example of the stories by Bernhard Schlink)

The aim of the article is the fictional illustration of cooperation of music and modern German literature. Their constant correlation has been discussed for centuries. The analogy between these kinds of Art is considered at the example of the stories by Bernhard Schlink. The German writer describes a wide range of issues associated with music: psychological, social and historical. It is shown that the author unites the musical images with the psychological state of characters and manages to connect the music with the historical memory of Germany. The music by Bach unites the contradictory in the story “Bach on the island of Rugen”: past and present, strengths and weakness, good and bad.
