The System of State Power in the Russian Empire in the Political and Legal Views of M.M. Speransky

The article is devoted to the analysis of M.M. Speransky's political and legal views on the system of state power. Based on the research of his scientific works, the authors have built a concept of the state and legal structure of the Russian Empire, and revealed the key ideas of the reformer. The article notes that the state-transforming activity of M.M. Speransky as the chief compiler of the Code of Laws (1832), which played a key role in the systematization of Russian legislation, became an important stage in the development of the Russian legal system, laying the foundations for the codification and unification of law.
