The concept of teaching methods of classical dance in the modern education involves a wide range of competencies and is a new object of research in the field of pedagogical knowledge in the system of training choreographers. The article presents an analysis of the methodology of teaching classical dance in the process of teaching students of choreographic directions in higher education institutions. The main methodological goal of the research is to study the modern practice of choreographic education and teaching classical dance as a system. The main objectives of the research are to study the existing methods of teaching classical dance and to prove the need for a systematic approach. In the course of the research, the authors used both theoretical methods such as analysis, synthesis, generalization and practical methods such as observation and comparison.
