The situational and worldview factors in the social and political involvement of the youth

The research examines the factors in the social and political involvement of the youth. In the context of the approach to analyzing the interaction between the personality and the environment, the social engagement as an act of the proactive impact of the personality on the social environment is an increasingly important area in social psychology. The author describes the research findings concerning the relationship between the situational and worldview factors in the field under review. Based on the social and demographic survey, the assessment scale of the respondents’ social involvement and the Basic Assumptions Scale of R. Janoff-Bulman adopted by O. Kravtsova, the study reveals the significant situational (stability, organized and positive nature) and worldview factors (faith in kind people and faith in a just peace) in the social and political involvement in a sample of 192 people aged 15-24.
