The role and significance of cattle breeding in the development of animal breeding in the Volgograd region are considered. The modern tendencies of development of cattle breeding in the region are considered. There is revealed the place of the Volgograd region in the development of animal breeding in Russia. The ranking of municipal districts of the Volgograd region by the indicators of production of animal products is conducted.
