The article focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of application of syllable-analytical method in teaching the German language. The method in question involves the introduction of the learners to the structure of German syllable. To achieve this aim different means of symbolic visualization of phonetic-phonological structures of the German language are used. The results of application of this method prove its high potential in improving the orthographic and phonetic competence of language learners.
