Words of the French origin in the Spanish language of Argentina as a cultural development effect

The paper analyzes the influence of the French language on the vocabulary of the Spanish language in Argentina. On the one hand, this shows the relevance of words of French origin (adapted on the one hand or partially, and sometimes completely assimilated into the language). On the other hand, from the theoretical position taken into the account in the analysis of adoptions, it is argued that the type of research conducted is a meeting place with the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Spanish language in Argentina. The novelty of the research is an attempt to establish semantic fields in which most adoptions from the French language exist, which has not been carried out in detail before. The subject of the study is the Spanish language of Argentina, and the object is adoptions from the French language, which are divided according to the adoption degree. The material base was one of the largest news portals in Argentina, where examples of the use of adoptions were selected, the analysis of which became the research part of the article. The author concludes that most of the adoptions have cultural, gastronomic and architectural foundations. Words are either adapted to the language according to phonetic and spelling norms, or assimilated without changes. At the same time, the meaning of the word either changes or narrows in comparison with its use in the language of origin. The article can be useful not only for researchers in the field of Romance lexicology, but also for students of the Spanish language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
