The authors conduct a comparative analysis of the indicators of resilience, motivation, volitional self-control, and emotional intelligence of students and trainees at Krasnodar University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The respondents have been divided into two groups by ethnic denomination: Russian Orthodox Christians (18 males, 31 females) and North Caucasian Muslims (5 males, 8 females). The study reveals that Muslim males living in the ethnic homeland are more motivated, resilient, have sufficient ability to deal with the emotional and volitional regulation of activity compared to Muslim females and both Russian Orthodox males and females. Gender differences in the Muslim environment are demonstrated by the fact that males are more resilient than females. As for the Orthodox environment, females are better motivated in comparison to males. Besides, they center on the goal achievement and their professional self-improvement.
