The article focuses on the description of the results of an empirical study of the individual’s psychotraumatic experience in the context of maladaptive traits of his social well-being, conducted in February - March 2023. Participants numbered 168 women between the ages of 23 and 45 (M = 32.7). It is revealed that certain types of mental trauma have a specific reflection on properties and states of the individual, which can negatively affect one’s adaptation in society and social well-being as a whole. Anxiety becomes a systemic property of the individual and changes his compensatory protective manifestations. Personally significant mental traumas received as a result of a road traffic accident, bereavement of a loved one, mobbing, are accompanied by changes in value orientations of the individual and his ideas about himself, leading to personal imbalance and the subsequent distortion of social adaptation strategies of the psychotraumatized individual. The article summarizes some of the results of the study that can be used in the development of work programs for counseling psychologists providing aid in specific types of psychological trauma as well as become the basis for the formation of theoretical models of complex psychotraumatization.
