Social perceptions as a socio-psychological concept

Social perceptions as a psychological phenomenon are a current subject of research in various scientific fields. The interest in this concept as a basis for communication gains relevance in the light of the current social situation. The paper contains a theoretical description of social perceptions, which clarifies the debatable understanding of members of the scholarly community (both domestic and foreign) of the concept and forms a unified semantic space for the study of the subject of research. The starting point in the analysis of this concept is the approach of the founder S. Moscovici. Approaches to understanding this socio-psychological category of both foreign and domestic scientists are also presented. Based on the analysis of various approaches to the definition of this concept, its main characteristics are highlighted, the selected components are given, the theoretical positions of the author regarding further research are clarified. The presented analysis serves as a theoretical basis for an empirical study of the social perceptions of adolescents and young people about social success.
