The functional significance of critical reading in the system foreign language professional training of students of technical training programs is analyzed. There is suggested the set of critical reading skills. The methodological adaptation of the technology of development of critical thinking by the means of reading and writing to teach critical reading at foreign language is conducted. The system of exercises for the development of corresponding skills of foreign language critical reading is developed.
