The research analyzes the factors determining the body image (mass media, family and peers). The study examines the correlation between the characteristics of adolescent girls’ body image (body acceptance, appearance, functional characteristics, body type) and the parameters of self-attitude. A sample of 58 girls aged 13-14 demonstrated that self-interest and self-liking are higher in the group of girls having the positive attitude towards their body. There is the lowest rate of self-incrimination among these girls; however, self-esteem rates in this group are close to self-respect rates among girls having the negative attitude towards their body, which indicates the ambiguous links between the parameters under consideration. Self-confidence and self-understanding are largely correlated with the body image, and self-guidance and self-incrimination are slightly related to it.
