Comparative and typological studies in the works by professor I. D. Bukhaeva

The article is devoted to phonological studies of an amazing person, a great scientist I. D. Bukhaeva, written in the comparative and typological aspect. We have analyzed the main phonological ideas of the professor on the problems of phonetic Buryat-Russian interference of the segmental level. Particular attention is paid to comparative studies on the sound system of the Buryat and Russian languages from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. It is emphasized that the professor for the first time has studied the syntagmatic phonology of the Buryat language in the aspect of speech generation, since the specificity of the system of phonetics and phonology lies in the syntagmatic relations of its constituent units. According to I. D. Bukhaeva, segmentation of the speech flow in the Buryat language is a specific way of implementing semantic information, which differs in this respect from the Russian language.
