Comparative analysis of the dynamics of the formation of motor abilities of schoolchildren aged 9-10 years with intellectual disabilities for the period from 2008 to 2024

The article presents the results of studying the dynamics of formation of speed, speed-strength abilities, strength endurance and strength abilities proper in individuals with intellectual disabilities aged 9-10 years over the past 16 years. A reliable deterioration in the indicators characterizing the development of speed abilities and strength endurance of the arms was established; strength abilities proper remained at the same level in absolute values; indicators characterizing the development of speed-strength abilities in 9-year-old children improved. It is suggested that the deterioration in the indicators characterizing the development of basic motor abilities of primary school children with intellectual disabilities that occurred over the past sixteen years is associated with the admission of children with a large number of diseases and developmental defects associated with the main diagnosis to correctional schools; changes in the program of the academic subject “Physical Education” in terms of work on the development of speed abilities proper (athletics, sports games). The obtained data and conclusions can be used to adjust the programs of training in the field of physical education, become the basis for discussion at meetings of methodological associations of physical education teachers of correctional schools; included in programs for improving the qualifications of teachers working with children with intellectual disabilities.
