Comparative analysis of verbs of movement in Tajik and Russian languages

The functional potential, structural and semantic characteristics of the units of the lexical and semantic group of the verbs of movement in the Tajik language movement are poorly studied in the aspect of comparative features. A comparative analysis of prefixed verbs of movement in the Russian and Tajik languages contributes to a deeper penetration into the essence of the category of space. The revealed differential semantic features, as well as the rules of correspondence of Russian prefixed verbs of movement and their Tajik equivalents can serve as the basis for further research in this direction. The article attempts to comprehensively compare the prefixed verbs of movement of the Russian language and their correspondences in Tajik; differentiating semantic features of verbs of movement are revealed during the explication of the process of movement in Russian and Tajik; rules for the correspondence of Russian prefixed verbs of movement and their Tajik equivalents are developed and formulated. Based on the current points of view regarding the differentiating features of verbs of motion, we have identified the following semantic features for consideration: unidirectionality / multidirectionality, multiplicity / non-repetition, compatibility / incompatibility, as well as speed, method, environment, vehicle. It should be noted that for the Russian verbs of movement, all of the listed differential features are inherent. Differential characteristics of the verbs of movement in the Tajik language are the characteristics "speed of movement" and "compatibility of movement."
