The condition of cognitive functions in heroin addicted persons at the stage of abstinence syndrome therapy

The article provides the analysis of the results of neuropsychological research of cognitive functions of heroin addicted patients that was held at the initial and at the final stage of abstinence syndrome therapy. The study determined the dynamics of cognitive functions condition and revealed stable predominant dysfunction of the following brain zones: prefrontal convexital zone of frontal cortex, TPO zones and premotor convexital zone of frontal cortex. The dysfunction of the above mentioned localization is manifested in violations of digestion of activity program, failures in its fulfillment, decrease in criticism of the activity results, deficiency of selectivity, inability to correct mistakes independently, all of which do not show essential changes during the course of abstinence syndrome therapy according to the standard scheme.
