Improving the training of specialists in accordance with the needs of the tourism industry

The article marks the need for enhancing the training of specialists in the tourism industry. The author stresses out the importance of designing university curricula that consider the unique characteristics of the external environment and the direction of tourism activity. The goal of tourism education should be to prepare pragmatic specialists who can meet the needs of society and the industry. To achieve this, it is essential to involve industry representatives in curriculum development to ensure that their proposals and needs are considered. The article explores the potential for improving practical training for tourism students in Mongolia through the widely used method of workplace-based learning, which helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. The study is grounded on systemic and practice-oriented approaches.
