A modern teenage book in the reading circle of generation Z

The author considers the urgent problem of introducing generation Z to reading. Despite the experience of educating the Reader accumulated by science in the XIX XX centuries, the new historical context requires the search for new ways and means of moral influence through the book on the inner world of a teenager. The author claims that a modern teenage book can satisfy the reader's needs of a new generation. Based on surveys of teachers of literature, he analyzes the reading circle of teenagers, formed with the help of professional expert commissions of literary prizes in the field of children's and youth literature. As examples, the author of the article characterizes the books of literary prize laureates: Y. V. Varnakova "Only the Wind towards" (as an example of appealing to the values of patriotism and citizenship) and the fantastic novel by L. A. Romanovskaya "Siblings", which forms the image of the future. The reviews of young readers about these works are analyzed. The conclusion is made about the significant spiritual and moral potential of modern children's and youth books, which raise issues of concern to generation Z.
