Current trends in distance education

The article discusses current aspects of the distance learning format usage in modern higher education system. On the basis of available teaching experience, the main advantages and disadvantages of online education are analyzed, a theoretical review of the research devoted to it in the context of existing scientific approaches is carried out. Factors influencing the productivity of learning, depending on the direct and remote communication in the dyad “teacher - student” are considered. The peculiarities of interaction between participants in the educational process in the new conditions of distance learning for the system are defined. The difficulties faced by faculty and students during remote interaction are explored. The remarkable thing is that successful distance learning requires a high level of individual responsibility of the participants. Conclusions dwells upon the fact that the combination of two forms of work - full-time and remote - during the organization of the process of professional training is able to improve the quality of education in the university.
