The article aims to consider the current state of Russian psychology on the basis of the concept of the development of science by T. Kuhn, the theory of the scientific revolution by V.S. Stepin and the externalist understanding of the mechanisms of the development of science. A hypothesis is put forward and substantiated that Russian psychology is in a situation of interparadigmality, that is, it is going through a period of scientific revolution that has lasted for more than two decades. This vision is fundamentally new in relation to the concept of multiparadigmality, through which most researchers comprehend the current situation in science. However, the vision proposed by the authors corresponds to the concept of T. Kuhn, according to which the “paradigm” is the dominant fundamental scientific theory, and therefore the presence of several competing theories is not a state of multiparadigmality, but interpar-adigmality, which is characteristic of the period of scientific revolutions. Such an interpretation provides a new perspective on the current methodological problems of psychology, in particular the determination of the criteria for scientific character, the specifics of the modern development of psychology, explanation of the difficulties and “asymmetry” of integrating domestic psychology into the global one. It is concluded that the problematization of scientific criteria is not necessarily related to the specifics of psychology as a humanitarian science, but is characteristic of the period of the scientific revolution. The difficulties of integration into global science can be understood as a consequence of the “incommensurability” of paradigms in which domestic and foreign researchers work. The presence of competing theories does not negate the objectivity of knowledge as a system-forming feature of science, so it is not an essential feature of post-non-classical science. It is concluded that it is necessary to analyze and compare the foundations of existing psychological theories in order to more fully understand the current situation in psychology and predict its future. The results of this study can be used for an innovative synthesis of knowledge on the history of psychology and the development of methodological issues of modern psychology.
