The article presents the author’s interpretation of the pedagogical process of formation of personal self-organization skills. It is determined that the formation of such skills begins in early childhood under the influence of various factors, one of which is creative activity. The article reveals the stages of formation of self-organization skills and examines their content. In this regard, the author draws attention to the original system of education that has developed in the national pedagogy of folk dance, in which the process of forming children’s self-organization skills was not previously considered. The article shows that folk dance, as part of the cultural heritage, has a high educational potential, translates traditions, history, character and forms a national identity. The appeal of teachers-tutors and choreographers to the issues of the artist’s independent work on his physical data made it possible to form recommendations for adult performers, however, the transfer of such techniques into the educational process in children’s amateur folk dance groups requires additional reflection.
