Specificity of the functioning of the color vocabulary in the English texts for children

The article deals with the analysis of the specific features of color names allowing to enrich the general background of the narration and to transform it by the necessary associations on the basis of the texts for children. There are consistently considered the basic functions of the color vocabulary, there is demonstrated its value to achieve the information potential of the text.
