The relevance of the article is due to the need for future teachers to develop competence in the development of speech skills and skills necessary for successful communication in the social world in preschool and primary school children. The ability to convincingly express one's own opinion, negotiate, bring verbal arguments in a controversial situation, convince is extremely relevant for modern society. The author of the article describes methodological aspects of improving argumentative skills that are professionally significant for future teachers, with emphasis on the main difficulties in the perception and evaluation of argumentative speech. The content of the methodological and procedural component of undergraduate training, which identifies the stages, forms and methods of training students in the formation of argumentative skills in children of preschool and primary school age, is disclosed. The main emphasis in the article is placed on problematic teaching methods that allow communication participants to most naturally include argumentative statements in speech.
