The article deals with the basic approaches to the study of the creative self-development of the personality. There is substantiated the urgency of the implementation of the pedagogical potential, reserves and resources of the Russian folklife culture in the creative self-development of the personality. There are revealed the specific features and the principles of the creative development of the personality at every stage of the continuous artistic education.
