The specific features of the use of color components in the political sphere on the basis of the English definition dictionaries and the online dictionaries of the American political terms

The article deals with the dictionary survey of the color names. There is concluded that the combinations with the color lexical units and the lexical meanings of the color names are characterized by the political markedness. On the basis of the dictionaries there is shown that the adjectives ‘red, blue, green, black, white’ are characterized by the most lexical and semantic rootedness in the sphere of the modern policy. The author gives the examples of the word-formative activity in the political discourse.
