This paper presents results of a transrectal ultrasound examination and treatment of postcoital endometritis in American Trotter mares. The aim of the study was to compare two treatment regimens for postcoital endometritis in American Trotter mares at Povorot VP, LLC. Treatment effectiveness was monitored using a repeated comprehensive reproductive evaluation, which included transrectal ultrasound, vaginoscopy, manual vaginal examination and hematological blood tests. If postcoital endometritis occurs, the following treatment regimen should be prescribed: uterine lavage with 3 liters of 0.9% sodium chloride solution + 4% gentamicin sulfate at a rate of 4 ml per liter of sodium chloride. After introducing 3 liters of the solution into the uterine cavity, the hormonal drug Oxytocin 10 IU 2.5 ml is administered intravenously. Then, Oxytocin is administered intramuscularly at 5- hour intervals and the combined Gamavit drug at 1 ml per 1 kg every 48 hours intramuscularly. The use of a treatment regimen using gentamicin sulfate in mares of the experimental group gives the best result, since 2 out of 3 mares in the control group (66.67%) became pregnant, while in the experimental group, 3 out of 3 mares (100%) became pregnant. The proposed treatment regimen contributed to the normalization of hematological parameters and the recovery of the animals: a decrease in neutrophil counts after treatment indicates the completion of neutrophil phase of fight against the inflammatory process, while an increase in monocytes is a marker of the end of inflammatory process and the beginning of recovery period.
