Summary We conducted a comparative study of the effects of therapeutic gamma radiation and x-ray radiation with an ultra-high dose rate of the experimental setup "MIR-M" in human prostate cancer cells line PC3. The assessment of the level of double-strand breaks (DSBs) of DNA was performed. In comparison with therapeutic radiation, ultra-high dose rate radiation, at equal equivalent doses of radiation, caused remarkably more DSBs and the differences by the number of DSDs increased with increasing radiation dose.
