Comparative Studies of the Vocabulary of Mongolian Languages

Бесплатный доступ

The article examines the differential vocabulary of Mongolian languages based on the material of the Dictionary of Mongolian Languages, published by the Qinghai People's Publishing House in 1990. Comparative studies of vocabulary in Mongolian studies have not yet received due development. However, such studies can provide extensive and interesting material for historical and linguistic research. Analysis of the material showed that even in the basic vocabulary of Mongolian languages there are significant differences that are not due to one language borrowing lexemes from another contact-ing language (Turkic, Chinese, Tibetan, etc.). As an additional source of materials, examples were drawn from Hitoshi Kuribayashi's "Comparative Basic Vocabularies for Mongolian (Chakhar), Dagur, Shera-Yӧgur, Monguor, Bao-an and Dungshang". As a result, a number of difference words were identified, including in comparison with the Khalkha-Mongolian and Bur-yat languages.
