Comparative analysis of the formation of cognitive processes in younger adolescents with high and low levels of nonverbal intelligence

During childhood and adolescence, cognitive processes play a key role in children's development. Their intensity and effectiveness are directly related to the cognitive characteristics of individuals, which are a set of elements, including: memory, attention, speed of thought reactions, imagination, speech, the ability to reason logically, perceive information with the senses. The aim of the present study is to identify the peculiarities of cognitive processes of younger adolescents with different levels of development of nonverbal intelligence. The interpretations of the relevant concepts in psychological research are given. The results of the study of memory and attention parameters in young adolescent children with different levels of development of nonverbal intelligence are analyzed. Significant differences in the volumes of visual mediated, short-term and long-term memory, auditory mediated memory, as well as in the processes of switching and distributing attention in the general sample of subjects of the selected category are determined. Statistically reliable differences were obtained according to the results of the study of the peculiarities of cognitive processes of younger adolescents with different levels of nonverbal intelligence development taking into account the respondents' gender.
