The establishment and development of the foreign-language education at the higher educational institutions of the people's republic of China: historical aspect

The article deals with the history of teaching the foreign languages in the People’s Republic of China, dating back no less than thousand years. There are revealed the stages of the establishment of the foreign-language education in the People’s Republic of China, there is given their detailed characteristics. The author demonstrates that for the seventy years, since the People’s Republic of China was established, (especially for the forty years) teaching the foreign languages in the People’s Republic of China has been risen to a new higher level.
