European aesthetic culture of the 18th century: the formation and interaction of national schools in the art of opera

The European artistic culture of the 18th century was a complex heterogeneous dynamically developing space in which styles and trends of art changed, under the influence of educational ideas, new aesthetic principles were established, artistic criticism was formed, which began to have a serious impact on the development of all types of art, including musical dramatic. The subject of the article is the complex process of adapting the artistic and aesthetic features of the Italian genre of opera-buffa by the French musical, dramatic and aesthetic culture of the 18th century. On the basis of extensive materials of journalism and art criticism received by the author in foreign archives and libraries (National Library of France, National Library of Marciana (Venice)), it was possible to show the great influence of sociopolitical, national-cultural and artistic contexts on the development of opera genres in Italy and France.
