The relevance of research on the problem of encouraging teachers in vocational educational organizations to be socially active is determined by changes occurring in the secondary vocational education system and related to the high demand in the Russian economy for mid-level personnel with personal and professional qualities that meet the demands of the times. A deep and comprehensive examination of various aspects of the theory and practice of motivating teachers to engage in socially active behavior was the subject of our study, which was conducted based on an analysis of Russian scientifi c works using general scientifi c methods. A teacher’s social activity is manifested in their actions and initiatives (scientifi c research and innovation, participation in pedagogical communities, projects, experiments, etc.) and depends on the development of such personal qualities as determination, friendliness, independence, conscientiousness, and creativity. Incentives for teachers are the actions of a manager in relation to them, representing a consistent process of creating conditions and a motivating environment that facilitates the activation of internal capacities for active social behavior in the educational process and ensures the teacher’s development and transition to a higher level. The author examines in detail such incentives as educational-developmental, organizational-axiological, economic, material-subject, socially oriented, organizational-administrative, organizational-innovative, and sociopsychological. Incentives for teachers at professional educational organizations can be conceptualized as a system that includes subject-object, value-target, content, performance, and technological components. The implementation of this system will result in improved management, unlocking the potential of teachers at professional educational organizations, and creating conditions and a comfortable environment that will likely contribute to positive dynamics in their socially active work.
