The article deals with the essence of the basic translation strategies while translating the English headlines into Russian depending of the aims of the cultural and pragmatic adaptation: the strategy of explication, the strategy of implication and the corresponding translation techniques. The material allows to enlarge the imagination of the linguocultural peculiarities of the headlines’ translation. The analysis is conducted on the material of the headlines of the mass media articles in Great Britain and the USA.
