Strategies for overcoming professional stress: from theory to practice

The stressful state of the teacher, which occurs under the influence of various negative factors in professional activities, can cause professional stress. Since the reactions of the individual to stressors in professional activities are determined by personal characteristics, professional stress can be caused by absolutely various factors. The article briefly presents the author’s program of teaching teachers to overcome professional stress. The purpose of this program was to develop the following competencies among the participants: knowledge of the psychological mechanisms of stress and the ability to diagnose a stressful state; readiness to overcome stress and crisis situations in professional activities; the ability to identify signs of professional deformation and burnout in the profession; the ability to determine one’s own characteristics of an emotional reaction; use methods of self-regulation of emotional states that are adequate to the situation, and others.
