The article gives the author’s version of the analysis of the formation of the essence of human and its degradation in the context of modern culture. The authors argue that the «beginning» of history and its «end» should be considered in organic unity and complementarity. The “beginning” of history is interpreted by them as a long process of collecting the distinctive qualities of human in his ancestral meaning: spirituality, specific bodily activity, gun activity, symbolism. The interpretation of the «end» of history as the achievement of the ideal state of social existence and the exhaustion of resources of qualitative renewal of society from this point of view needs to be supplemented. The article considers the peculiarities of utopian consciousness. The authors propose an approach in which the “end” of history is interpreted as diffusion of the emerging essence of human, reduction of his basic components. It has been concluded that the «beginning» and «end» of history are devoid of linearity, and manifest heterochronous, both in global and local dimensions, in phylogenesis, and in ontogenesis.
