The article presents the results of an empirical study of the relationship between the adaptive potential of a personality and self-regulation in the professional activities of media professionals. The modern world, with its rapid changes and the rapid growth of technology, requires effective adaptation mechanisms from special-ists in various fields of professional activity, including employees of the media sphere. 76 media professionals (46 women and 30 men) participated in the empirical study. The average age of the respondents is 35 years. The average professional experience is 12 years. The following methods were used in the study: the multilevel person-ality questionnaire “Adaptivity”, developed by A.G. Maklakov and S.V. Chermyanin to assess the adaptive personal potential of a personality; the questionnaire “Style of self-regulation of behavior” by V.I. Morosanova ‒ to analyze the behavioral component of professional self-regulation; the questionnaire “Methodology for the diagnosis of re-flexivity” by A.V. Karpov – to test the reflexive component of professional self-regulation. The data obtained revealed a link between the adaptive potential of a personality and self-regulation in the professional activities of media professionals. Positive relationships between indicators of the adaptive potential of a person and self-regulation in professional activity act as supporting adaptability in media specialists, negative relationships can be considered as compensation for maladaptivity in these specialists.
