Изучение депрессии, коморбидной ишемической болезни сердца (ИБС) представляет большой интерес, что обусловлено высокой частотой ее возникновения и прогностической значимостью для исхода основного заболевания. В настоящее время биологические механизмы развития депрессии и ее связи с ИБС однозначно не определены, что связано с многообразием предрасполагающих и патогенетических факторов. В обзоре обсуждается роль полиморфизмов генов серотонинэргической системы в развитии депрессии, коморбидной ИБС.
