The actualization of the problem of freedom of labor is facilitated by the recent changes in the text of the Russian Constitution, the formation of political and ideological prerequisites for the development of individual freedom in Russia. Currently, there is a transformation of the system of relations between the individual, society and the state, in which freedom of labor occupies a prominent place. In various philosophical and socio-political teachings, freedom is in one way or another based on the inadmissibility of any coercion. At the same time, the attitude towards freedom in different political and socio-economic formations is not the same. The understanding of freedom depends on the recognition of the status and significance of such important categories as private property, equality, and social justice. All of these factors are externally expressed in the variability of ideas about negative and positive freedom, which in turn affects the concept of labor freedom. The article concludes about the combination of individual and collective freedom of labor, the subjects of which are individuals and social groups, primarily the classes of private owners and employees. The creation of formal legal and political prerequisites for the development of labor freedom in modern society faces the problem of economic coercion, which impedes the implementation of both individual and collective labor freedom. Overcoming such coercion by legal and socio-economic means is the most important condition for achieving the goal of social justice by ensuring equality of citizens and social groups based on equal dialogue between employees and private owners.
