The paper provides an overview of such active learning technologies as educational simulation technologies. The points of view of scientists on the concept of “simulation” and its place among pedagogical technologies are given. The definition of the concept of “educational simulation” is given. The types of game and non-game educational simulation modeling are identified. The forms of educational simulation modeling of an individual and collective nature and their possibility of application in the study of professional disciplines are determined. Examples of the use of educational simulation technologies in the process of teaching legal subjects to law students are given.
