The article deals with the technology of “provocative” pedagogy as an effective way of developing readiness of the students of the language departments to teach. The author critically evaluates the traditional methods of developing the readiness to teaching activities, such as practical classes of the disciplines of the psychological and pedagogical cycle and pedagogical practices. There are substantiated the new technologies of “provocative” pedagogy, contributing to the formation of the motivational component of the language department students’ readiness for teaching activities.
