The article reviews the concept of “educational technology”. It presents the algorithm-based technology that reflects the sequence of actions for the implementation of a specific pedagogical project. The study identifies the meaningful conditions for implementing development technology in relation to the teachers’ skills in project activities and diagnostic criteria of its effectiveness. The authors reveal that critical thinking is an integral feature consisting of motivational, organizational, activity and reflexive components of pedagogical projects. The research assesses the level of critical thinking formation among teachers working at mixed-age comprehensive schools and having different qualification levels. The paper describes the content of teachers training program on fundamentals of project activities in the career development system. The author provides the key idea for the technology of developing skills in project activities among teachers which is based on the fact that it is necessary to develop personal skills of a teacher along with the study of algorithm design and the choice of educational forms and methods.
