Text in the semiotic aspect of culture as a basis for understanding methodological contexts

The article examines the basic elements of semiotics, such as text, context, which determine the multifaceted process of understanding methodological texts. Semiotic objects that are defined as «thinking structures», generators of new meanings by entering a new context, are outlined in the article as well. The aim is to comprehend Lotman's «semiosphere» phenomenon and its presence in different parts of the modern field of the humanities. Culture in terms of semiotics is understood as a sign system of relations established between man and the world. Within the area of the Y.M. Lotman's semiotic school, the sign system of the text can be transcended in the sphere of education, aimed at the formation and development of human personality and the preservation of cultural space of society as a whole. Culture and education are seen by ourselves as interrelated phenomena. The concepts of semiotics define the human right to one's own perception, to subjective inclusion in a cultural context, enriching the practice of educational activity with categories, methods and principles. The outer space of education transforms the inner space of the individual and acts as a way of interaction between the «subjective world of the individual» and the «objective world of cultural values».
