The hybridization trend in student teachers’ practicum: international experience

This paper presents the results of a comparative study of the student teachers' practicum in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany and the Netherlands. The research methods include analysis of Russian and foreign literature, frequency analysis of authentic academic texts and regulatory documents. The results of the research prove the existence of hybridization trend in the design and implementation of the student teachers' practicum models in the studied context. This trend is substantiated on the basis of dialectical periodization of the student teachers' practicum system transformation in foreign countries; the paper reveals the characteristics of the hybridization trend, signs of its manifestation and progression at different levels. The results of the study can be used in comparative research of teacher education and development of practicum programmes for student teachers.
