Theoretical aspects of contemporary symphony genre

The paper is dedicated to the problem of the modern symphony genre typology. The problem choice is determined by the peculiar features of the modern cultural world, with its dynamic development and deep transformations of many genre patterns. The creative work of the modern Moscow composers in the period since 90th of the XX-th century till nowadays has become the material for disclosing of this problem. The paper indicates four criteria of the modern symphony genre systematization. They include an estimation of the modern symphony in relation to a genre canon, and also take into account different modern composition techniques, a diversity of the author's approaches to the performing staff of the compositions and dramatic processes.
