The article is devoted to one of the urgent topics facing modern society in our country. Social orphanhood in Russia is a profound problem that affects many aspects of the lives of children and adolescents. They are deprived not only of material support, but also often face a lack of love, care and attention from adults. The study of the research problem will allow us to expand our ideas on the issue of psychological and pedagogical support of adaptation of orphans and children left without parental care in a preschool institution.
