Theoretical bases of higher school students’ self-educational activity development

The article analyses factors and various components of the higher school’s educational process affecting the effectiveness of self-educational activity of students. The author’s interpretation of students’ self-educational activity is presented. It has been found that the basis of the developmental nature of self-educational activity is deliberate learning of theoretical knowledge, and the higher their applied nature is, the more effective the learner’s intellectual process is. The author considers correlation of self-education with other types of human activities.
