Theory and educational practices of personal potential development: review

Бесплатный доступ

The rapid changes of the digital era across all areas of societal life have highlighted the need to develop personal potential that enables people to effectively solve emerging problems in difficult conditions, withstand external pressure, and rely on internal goals, meanings, and available resources. New concepts, namely, “human potential” and “personal potential”, which both domestic and foreign scholars consider insufficiently explored, are viewed in interdisciplinary fields (economics, sociology, psychology, pedagogy, and neuroscience) as equivalent, subordinate, or overlapping. The conceptual framework of personal potential development requires refinement and systematization. This article presents an analysis and synthesis of the main characteristics of the concept “personal potential” within psychology and pedagogy, as well as effective educational practices that promote its development within the education system. Understanding the features of personal potential and modern educational practices for its development will help educators become more selective and effective when designing and implementing pedagogical processes.
