The author substantiates the necessity for the shift of Russian Translation Studies paradigm towards a new anthropocentric integrated theory (semiotics of translation) enabling modeling of the act of translation as a real system of active cognitive-communicative interaction as well as a conceptual system of multiple ontologies. Such theory may help to narrow the existing epistemological gap between theory, didactics and practice of translation.
