The article deals with the concept of the term-eponym, there is considered the issue of its nomination and interpretation. There is conducted the analysis of the terms-eponyms of the English terminological systems of the professional computer discourse, there is presented the classification of these terminological units on the grounds of the basic element of nomination, thematic orientation and ways of formation.
