The advantages of teaching English at early age to young learners

For many years a lot of attention is being paid to the development of learning foreign languages, especially English The presidential decree № 5117 which was released on May 19, 2021 is a good example for this.

Rezolution president of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures to rise to a qualitatively new level of activity to popularize the study of foreign languages in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the State Program Year of “Supporting Youth and Protecting the Health of the Population”, as well as with the aim of developing teaching foreign languages as a priority area of educational policy, dramatically improving the quality of education in this area, attracting qualified teachers to the field and increasing the interest of the population in studying foreign languages.

Young learners is a catch-all term for students who are not yet adults.... In this interpretation, the term 'young learners' includes the whole range of ages and developmental stages of children from infants, young children and older children, through to adolescents, teenagers and young people.

Based on the tasks put forward for teaching English at an early age by the president of our republic we decided to write with one of the most interesting topics of the present day “How do children learn English language?”

One of the most important aspects of teaching English to young learners is creating an enjoyable and creative learning atmosphere.... Fun activities: Incorporating new words into songs and games helps children relax and enjoy the learning process. Using music also improves retention of new material.

Teaching English to Young Learners is a course for all teachers of primary age students. It aims to provide teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to support young learners through the delivery of engaging and motivating lessons.

Everybody knows that, the educational position is very great. The president of the Republic Uzbekistan is paying great attention to the young learners or their educational system. There are all comfort abilities for the youth to study, to learn and so on. According to the state educational system of Uzbekistan the youth are being taught like European educational system. So I am going to give information about the position of teaching English language for young learners in Uzbekistan. The decree № 5117 of the president of Uzbekistan “Developing teaching foreign languages as a priority area of educational policy, dramatically improving the quality of education in this area, attracting qualified teachers to the field and increasing the interest of the population in studying foreign language”. One year ago, English language was taught from 5th to 9th form. But now English teachers got a great opportunity to teach kids at primary education I mean from 1st form. Pedagogies think 5 years is short time to learn another language. But this problem solved with very good results.

After that the teachers of Uzbekistan are taught by different experienced trainers step by step at teachers staff training and retraining institutes. They teach them modern methods and how to teach foreign language to our young learners.

Now I am going to speak on the theme ‘How do children learn English language’. Young children are natural language acquirers, they are self motivated to pick up language without conscious learning unlike adults and work out the rules for themselves.

That is true teaching foreign language to children who are at the age of 79 may be difficult or early. Because they do not know their native language. But there are some advantages of beginning early. They are;

---young children are still using the individual, innate language learning strategies to acquires then home language and soon find they can also use these strategies to pick up English.

—young children have time to learn through playing and they like such kind of activities. They pick up language by taking part in an activity share with teacher or adults. The firstly they make sense of activity then get meaning from the teacher’s sharing.

To my mind to begin teaching English language early is very effective and interesting. Because first when babies learn their home language, they use ‘silent period’ when they look and listen and communicate through facial expressions or gestures before they begin to speak.

When child learn English, they may be similar when communication and understanding may take places before they actually speak any English word.

So that teaching effectively depends on teacher’s method or way of teaching. Because pupils who are at the age of 7-9 are interested in everything and their interests can improve their learning ability. So that teacher must know a lot of methods. I organized a lot of lessons which are taught by different teachers to the first form.

According to my organizing the effective learning of teaching English depends on teacher. So teacher must use different authentic materials and visual aids. Authentic materials help children to learn and to remember easily. Also teacher must give a chance to pupils to feel free themselves. They must communicate or work with each other without teacher’s guidance, the try work independently. In this position they can feel themselves free and relaxed.

The teachers’ working is not for teaching English to young learners. Because pupils who are at the age of 7-9 are very playful. So they may forget all words which teacher explained at previous lessons. So children’s parents also must try to help them to review the previous lessons.
